About Ivan

Ivan Lewis MPPrior to being elected an MP, Ivan worked in the local voluntary sector throughout his working life for Outreach, Contact Community Group and was latterly Chief Executive of the Manchester Jewish federation.

Ivan was born and raised, and has lived all his life in the constituency.

Prestwich Councillor 1990—1998

First Elected as your MP in 1997, re-elected in 2001 and 2005

Before Parliament spent working life in local voluntary sector—Outreach, Contact, Manchester Jewish Federation  



Minister in Government since 2001, Education, Treasury and now Minister for Care Services.
