Ivan Lewis Promises Community Campaign to Fight Radcliffe Civic Hall Closure Plan

Following a review of Municipal leisure facilities Bury Council have drawn up secret plans to close Radcliffe Civic Hall.  The recommendation will be made public at a Town Hall meeting scheduled for this week.

Ivan Lewis stated:

"This is another attack on Radcliffe by a Conservative Council which is asset stripping our community brick by brick.  Firstly the Conservatives scrap our new state of the art school now they plan to close the main venue for social and community events in the town."

"As the Conservatives gather for their conference in Manchester next week they will claim to have changed.  Down the road in Radcliffe the true face of Cameron’s Conservatives is on show.  The same old Tories asset stripping and cutting essential services in a community which needs boosting not decimating."

"I am launching an immediate Stand Up for Radcliffe Civic Hall petition and urge Radcliffe people to join my campaign to ensure this closure plan is scrapped"
