YOUR Radcliffe West Councillors
Cllr Rishi Shori
Leader of Bury Metropolitan Borough Council
T. 07809 862 561
I’ve been a Councillor since 2009 and was re-elected in 2010 and 2014. I have lived in Radcliffe for almost 30 years.
I am a Governor at Millwood Special School. My passions are health & social care issues. Since May 2016 I have been the Leader of the Council and from May 2017 I have been part of Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham’s Leadership Team alongside Sir Richard Leese and Baroness Beverley Hughes. My responsibility across Greater Manchester if for Young People and Social Cohesion.
(L to R) – Sir Richard Leese, Mayor Andy Burnham, Baroness Beverley Hughes and Radcliffe West Councillor Rishi Shori
I am delighted that since Labour has taken over the Council significant sums have been invested in Radcliffe including the completion of the £6m Redbank Extra Care Scheme, helped secure £1m of funding on the renovation of Rose Court Care Home to focus on dementia care, £1m on the newly refurbished Market Hall, and almost £1m to bring empty properties in Radcliffe back into use over the next 3 years. A new £2m Bus Station has been constructed and a Lidl store will be built in the town centre to bring new people in to support local businesses.
Outside of work and politics I am big a Man United fan!

Hi, I’m Tony Cummings; I’ve lived in Radcliffe since 1981 and I’ve been privileged to be a Councillor since 2001, representing the residents of Radcliffe West since the re-organisation of the Wards in 2004. I’ve been active in the ward, regularly attending Tenants’ and Residents’ Association meetings and events, holding regular surgeries at Radcliffe Library and also throughout the ward. A good deal of my time is spent helping residents with the day to day problems which they encounter. An important part of being a councillor is to help to shape the future of Radcliffe and I served for a number of years as Chair of Radcliffe Area Board and the Local Area Partnership; I am a member of the Radcliffe Township Forum.
I previously worked as a General Manager in the packaging industry being responsible for the Business and Marketing Plans together with the Sales, Production and Administration for six factories across the country; this gave me a sound knowledge of business, useful in my position as a councillor.
